Ohara Davies-Gaetano was raised in the heart of New York City, surrounded by a family of artists. She currently resides in Newport Beach, California. Attending school in London and South America exposed her to an inspiring array of design, which continues to influence her eclectic body of work. Ohara’s career includes the design and development of retail boutiques including The Iron Bed in Dallas, and Bliss Home and Design in Newport Beach. She also is the conceptual leader of the wholesale company Bliss Studio, and the Head Designer of the residential design firm Bliss Design. We believe she is one of the finest interior designers Southern California has to offer.

“When I was one year old, I tore a piece of parchment paper. My dad, who is an artist, carefully pinched it between his fingers and held it up to the light streaming in through the window. Later that night he framed the torn paper and placed it amongst his art collection, where it remains today.

Art in all forms, and the quest to originate, capture, and otherwise develop beauty became the basis of my childhood. I could do no wrong so long as I was creating. My dad encouraged me to color outside the lines, get paint on the floor, make a mess in his studio, and so I did. He encouraged me to push my creativity far outside the realm of my thoughts.

When I began my career as a designer, I realized how easy it is to create a beautiful and functional setting. But to create a timeless setting, layered with intrigue, unexpected beauty, and vitality; well, this became my challenge.” - Ohara

Using antique pieces in a home today requires a designer to look into the past and find, that which is timeless.
